Chelidonium majus extract is the whole plant extract of Chelidonium majus L., a plant of the Papaya family. It contains a variety of alkaloids, mainly chelidonine, cytisine, proopioidine, sanguinarine, etc.

Introduction to raw materials Celandine
Celandine is a perennial herb, 30 to 100cm tall, with yellow latex.The stem is erect, multi-branched, tender green, covered with white powder, and sparsely pubescent.The leaves are alternate, 1 to 2 pinnately divided, with 5 to 8 pairs of basal leaves and 2 to 4 pairs of cauline leaves, with irregular notches on the edges, nearly hairless above, and sparse pubescence below. There is white powder.Several flowers, arranged in an umbrella shape; 2 sepals, falling early; 4 petals, yellow, obovate, with many stamens; ovary linear, hairless.The capsule is linear and cylindrical, dehiscing upward from the base when mature.There are many seeds, ovoid, yellowish brown, shiny and reticulated.The flowering period is from May to August, and the fruiting period is from June to October.

Chemical composition: The fresh plant has a rich orange-yellow emulsion, which contains a variety of alkaloids. The alkaloid content is 0.7% or 0.97-1.87%.Among them, 41% of chelidonine, 22% of proopioidine, 17% of hemogenine, 9% of allocryprine, 5% of berberine, 3% of chelerythrine, 1.5% of sanguinarine, Methyl chelidonine 0.1%, and hydroxychelidonine, namely oxidized chelidonine, methoxychelidonine, cryptoline, chelidonine, chelidonine, homochelidonine, hydroxyl chelidonine Sanguinarine is oxidized sanguinarine.In addition to alkaloids, it also contains celandine acid, malic acid, citric acid, succinic acid, choline, methylamine, histamine, tyramine, saponins, flavonols, chelidonol, and cardiac glycosides. The content is highest during the flowering stage.The root contains alkaloids up to 1.33% or 1.90-4.14%. Some of the alkaloids are the same as those contained in the above-ground parts. In addition, they contain coptisine, chelidonine, chelerythrine, chelidonine, and spinach. Sterols, a small amount of ergosterol and rubber 0.118%.The leaves contain 1.43% flavonoids and a large amount of vitamin C.The content of vitamin C is the highest at the flowering stage, reaching 834 mg%, and the content is the lowest at 231 mg% when the fruit matures.The flowers contain 2.10% flavonoids.The fruit contains large amounts of choline, chelidonine and tetrahydrocoptisine.The seeds contain 40% fatty oil and coptisine.Germinated seeds contain chelerythrine and berberine.
