Flaxseed Extract is a light yellow to yellowish-brown fine powder produced from the seed of the Linum usitatissimum L plant. Seco-isolariciresinol diglucoside (SDG) is extracted as its main bioactive component which is a phytoestrogen, a nonsteroid compound that possesses estrogen-like activity. It can prevent hypertension, blood clots, arteriosclerosis, arrhythmia and is beneficial for diabetes and CHD. It can be used in health supplements for weight loss, to prevent apoplexy, hypertension, blood clots and arteriosclerosis, lower blood lipids, cholesterol and triglycerides.
