Description
 

Griffonia seed extract is a natural amino acid substance extracted from dried Ghana seeds, with the main active ingredient being 5-hydroxytryptophan. 5-hydroxytryptophan, chemical name 5-hydroxy-3-indolyl- α- Aminopropionic acid, abbreviated as 5-HTP in English, with the molecular formula C11H12N2O, is an organic compound with a light white gray powder appearance. It is insoluble in water but soluble in methanol and ethanol. In addition, Ghana seed extract is currently the main source of 5-hydroxytryptophan on the market.

MAIN FUNCTION

Griffonia seed extract, which is rich in 5-HTP. 5-HTP has a sedative and sleep promoting effect. Therefore, Ghana seed extraction is often used as a natural sleep promoter. The 5-hydroxytryptophan contained in Ghana seed extract can produce serotonin in the human body, which is important for normal nervous system and brain function. Serotonin can help with sleep, effectively control pain, and treat depression. In the limited human weight loss study conducted with Ghana seed extract, both studies used oral sprays, but they were confused with various herbs (in this case, it is difficult to put causality on Ghana seed extract). However, rodent studies using only Ghana seed extract also noted that using 25mg/kg 20% 5-HTP (equivalent to a human dose of 4mg/kg Ghana seed extract) did indeed reduce appetite. In addition, Ghana seed extract also has effects such as appetite inhibition, anxiety relief, depression relief, and central analgesia. Ghana seed extract can be applied in the treatment of diseases such as insomnia, depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, obesity, headache, and abdominal pain.
