Cinnamomum cassia is an evergreen tree that grows in evergreen broad-leaved forests, but is mostly cultivated. It is found in tropical and subtropical regions such as Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong, Guangxi, and Yunnan in China, with Guangxi being the most cultivated area. Most of the trees are artificial pure forests. Since 1962, China introduced large leaved Qinghua Gui from Vietnam and cultivated it in hilly or sloping mountainous areas, with large-scale cultivation in Guangdong, Guangxi, and other areas. Cinnamon powder is made from the dried and branched peels of cinnamon and large leaved purified cinnamon. It has a beloved aroma, mild and sweet feeling, and is a popular spice. Commonly used in bread, cakes, pies, and other baking products.
