Describe:
Before the flat car, the scientific name Plantago depressa Willd., commonly known as plantain. Annual or biennial herbs. Taproot long, with numerous lateral roots, ± fleshy. Rhizome short. Ye Jisheng is rosette-shaped, flat, oblique or erect; leaf blade is papery, elliptic, elliptic-lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate, and the base of the petiole expands into a sheath. Peduncles with longitudinal stripes, sparsely white pubescent; spikes thinly terete. Calyx glabrous, corolla white, glabrous. Stamens inserted near the top of the coronal tube, with the style obviously outstretched, anthers ovate-elliptic or broadly elliptic, white or greenish-white when fresh, light brown when dry. Ovule 5. Capsule ovate-elliptic to conical-ovate. Seeds 4-5, elliptic, flat ventrally, yellowish brown to black; cotyledons arranged dorsoventrally. The flowering period is from May to July, and the fruiting period is from July to September.
Growing in grasslands, river beaches, ditch sides, meadows, fields and roadsides, at an altitude of 5000-4500 meters. Most of China, North Korea, Russia (Siberia to the Far East), Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Kashmir, India are also distributed.
Main Function :
Heat-clearing and diuretic, expectorant, cooling blood, detoxification. For edema, oliguria, hot stranguria and astringent pain, heat-damp diarrhea, cough due to phlegm heat, hematemesis, epistaxis, carbuncle and sore tumefacting virus.
