Camu camu,Commonly known as camu-camu, caçari, araçá-d'água or camocamo,
it is a species of plant in the Myrtle family.It is a small, dense riverside tree that grows
in the Amazon rainforests of Peru and Brazil, growing to 3-5 meters (9.8-16.4 ft) tall and producing red/purple cherry-like fruits.It is a close relative of the guava (Myrciaria cauliflora)
and the guava or guava (Myrciaria floribunda). As much as 2-3% of the weight of fresh fruit is vitamin C.

In traditional Amazonian societies, camu-camu may have had nothing to do with nutrition, except for its vitamin C content.The fruit has extremely high acidity and tastes like sour grapes with large pits.The fruit is often used to make a pink juice (like lemonade) with a small amount of sugar.The reddish pigment in the fruit's leathery skin gives the juice extracted from camomile a pinkish color.The aroma is subtle but not as captivating as the more popular fruits.More recently, camu-camu has been used in ice cream and candies, and the pulp processed into a powder has begun to be marketed in the West as a health food in powder or capsule form.Camucam is reportedly used by indigenous Amazonian groups living along the Nanay River in the Loreto region of Peru as a traditional medicine to treat malaria.
